This painting was inspired by a Hawaiian proverb that translates "continue to do good and good works until the blessings of the heavens come down upon you".

I painted the piece to illustrate the blessings of the heavens being brought down by the stroke of a paddle in the Pacific. The mountains are the west side mountains of Maui as seen from upcountry.
